Bliss

I was sitting on my front porch looking through photos on my laptop trying to find something that I could use for my DT projects. I kept finding myself off task just enjoying the rain.
I'm not sure why but rainy days have always made me happy. I remember being a little girl and thinking that rainy days were so beautiful and vibrant. It was as if the rain intensified all of the colors. That was when I decided to take some photographs. I wanted to capture this about myself and that is what inspired this layout.

The layout is simple. The umbrella was both fun and easy to make. I used the part of the light green paper I had left after cutting a circle out of it for another layout. I layered it on top of the cream grid paper tucking the corners of my photos behind it.

I used chipboard shapes from K&Company to embellish the layout. I originally bought them because I thought I could mist them... and I was right. I used Glimmer Glaze to make the little birdy green and Glimmer Glam Chandelier on the rest to add some shimmer.

I added a journaling card and thought I was done but something was missing. I kept coming back to this layout trying to figure out what it needed. RAINDROPS!

I pulled out a shimmery piece of vellum and used my Silhouette cutting machine to cut out raindrops. I added them to the layout albeit under the umbrella but as it turns out that was exactly what was missing.
