September Design Team RAK

I love bookbinding, so when Sharon came out with her lovely September kit, I instantly thought of fall weather, starry nights and comfortable evenings at home. And that led to this star book. The book's simply titled "Home," allowing you to dress it up as much as you want. Add some letter stickers to spell out "Fall at Home," "Our Home," "Thoughts of Home," or whatever catches your fancy. Then fill the inside with your favorite pictures and journaling. Best of all, it's free! Well, there is a caveat. You must reply to this post telling me your favorite fall activities. Do you hike? Do you stargaze? Do you catch every episode of "Bones"? Whatever it is, do tell! I'll pick a winner Oct. 20.

I covered Davey bookboard with paper using PVA, a bookbinder's glue. I then attached those to the front and back of the star structure, again with PVA. The wood letters were painted with Making Memories paint and adhered with Terrifically Tacky tape. The book is bound with waxed linen thread in the long-stitch method.

Good luck!

Nancy, the book is fabulous! My favorite fall activities include tailgating, football games, shooting fall foliage, and enjoying the cooler temperatures with delicious seasonal beverages from Starbucks! I hope I'm lucky enough to win!

BTW -- Will you teach any book binding classes at the store? I'd love to learn.

Nancy - I'd like to learn how to do the binding, too :)

Autumn... we moved here late last year and just got a 'touch' of the falling of leaves and the morning nippy air. But I tell you it was enough to get my Girls excited to have the full blown experience. I have gone out and purchased 3 small rakes for them so they can make 'huuuge' leaf piles. In England the weather just blended from wet and damp summer into wet and cold winter. No real changing of seasons. So we are in for a real treat and many piccys. LOL.

I love your book - and definitely would be interested in a book binding class.

I know I'm not eligible but I love football, crisp mornings, apples, cider, sweaters, leaves, the crisp smell, Grey's....

Hi all,

I'll definitely be teaching a binding class and will let you know the dates as soon I've got everything together.

And just to share a few of favorite things about fall ... I love how the air turns crisp and all the colors take on a vibrancy you don't find during summer. I love the changing of the colors. I love it that the new fall season starts on TV. I love that I can break out my sweaters and boots. And I love switching from smoothies to Starbucks peppermint mochas. Mmmm.

We're big fall fans. It's my favorite season. We go out to Shenandoah almost every year and it'll be great to bring our little one there for the first time.

Star books are my favorite--and this one is beautiful. I just love going out to take pictures of fall color--and take pictures of my husband taking pictures. One of my favorite pictures is of my red convertible--on Skyline Drive--as we enjoyed a beautiful fall day.

This book is beautiful!

My favorite things to do in the fall stem from my childhood....I grew up in New England and have wonderful memories of apple picking, making applesauce and hommade donuts with my mom. Now that I have a 5 year old daughter I love to do the same with her....and we always love a trip to the pumpkin patch and getting ready for Halloween!

Thanks for the chance to win a piece of your beautiful art!

Oh the crisp fall air is what I love, the smell of hay and the sight of pumpkins! Wrap all that up with a warm cup of applie cider inhand ..... ahhh I'm one happy gal! (and yes, I so love catching EVERY episode of BONES .... missed last week b/c of the darn football game & debates!

This is an awesome creation you have put together as a RAK. I would so much treasure this little album and love to fill it with things that remind me of "autumn at home".

Thank you so much for an opportunity.
