to have & to hold

On this page I used several pieces of the Kaisercraft paper as my background. I also chalked the edges of my paper and picture mats and did a bit of machine stitching. Yes, I used a sewing machine to stitch on this layout! I realize that most of you probably have a sewing machine at home and have probably never used it on a scrapbook page before. Test your machine out on a scrap piece of paper; once you are satisfied with the stitch and feel comfortable using it on paper, give it a try on one of your scrapbook pages. If you’re like me, you probably purchased a sewing machine for another hobby you were interested in. You've probably since given up on that hobby and started scrapbook. So, dust off that old sewing machine and put it to good use! My only caution to adding machine stitching is to be conscious of where you place your adhesive. If you plan to sew around the edges, place your adhesive away from the edge so that the needle doesn’t get sticky. The important thing is to have fun with it!
